On May 16 CFE pointed out that CRE’s recently published distributed generation guidelines directly affect the energy generation company. CFE said these guidelines state that the energy that CFE would receive from distributed generators has to be given back in the same quantity, which does not take generation prices into account. It also goes against the development of the country’s base load.

On May 17 Dr. Piccard, Solar Impulse’s pilot, visited Mexico City. Solar Impulse is the first plane to travel around the world fuel by nothing more than solar energy.

On May 19, construction of the Texas-Tuxpan gas pipelines started, which will transport up to 2,600 million cfd of natural gas.



On May 19 the wind farm with the world’s largest wind turbines started generating power in the UK. The wind farm has 32 turbines, each able to produce up to 8 MWs.

Also on May 19, Mercedes-Benz announced its partnership with Vivint Solar to introduce Mercedes’ planned batteries for home energy storage. This will happen in the US first of all.
