Telmex decided to enter into the distributed generation area, offering its clients to pay for the installation of PV panels with a credit that is paid on its customers telephone bills. This service will be offered to the clients who pay over MX$2,500 on their electricity bill, which comes every two months.

Belgium issued its first sovereign green bond for a total value of US$5.54 billion to finance environmental and clean energy initiative, according to the country’s Debt Agency.

Wind farms produced 23.4 percent of Spain’s power during the Jan-Feb bimester of 2018, while the share coming from all renewables accounted for 38.4 percent.
Germany decided to cut the feed-in tariff scheme for its onshore wind farms a further 2.4 percent, reaching €7.14 per MWh, starting July 2018 after capacity installations during 2017 exceeded the government’s targets. The country also registered 220MW of new solar capacity installed on Jan. 2018.
GE Renewable Energy unveiled the largest, most powerful offshore wind turbine to date, with a capacity of 12MW. The company will invest more than US$400 million over the following three to five years to develop and deploy it.
