CENACE accepted 47 purchase and 13 sale power offers for the upcoming mid-term electricity auction. The purchase offers come from four different potential buyers.

Fotowatio Renewable Ventures, the Spanish solar unit of UAE-based Abdul Latif Jameel Energy, announced the financial closure for a 342W solar park to be built in San Luis Potosí, which came out from the second long-term electricity auction. The financial closure was signed with the German development bank KfW.

CRE published the tariffs to apply for CFE’s distribution service for the period of Jan. 1, 2016 until Dec. 31, 2018. The document, published in the DOF, includes the tariff adjustment mechanisms to be applied.

CFE published in the DOF the Organic Statute of its subsidiary productive enterprise CFE Suministrador de Servicios Básicos.

Enel started the construction of its 93MW Salitrillos wind farm in Tamaulipas. The investment in the construction of the facility amounts to approximately US$120 million, which will produce around 400GWh per year once it starts operations which is expected to happen in 2019.

International

According to IRENA’s latest report all types of clean energy will become more cost-competitive than fossil-fueled ones by 2020.

TenneT announced that the interconnections with North Sea’s wind farms transferred a total 16.97TWh of energy during 2017. This number exceeds the previous year’s by 47 percent, and more than doubles the one of 2015.

Innogy and Premius signed a cooperation agreement where the former takes over a project pipeline totaling 400MW of projects from the latter. The pipeline consists of 23 wind farms of different development stages.

Swedish tidal energy company Minesto announced the installation of its first commercial-scale Deep Grin kite turbine of 500kW will start on April off the coast of wales. Electricity generation is expected to start in the third quarter of 2018.

According to Aurora Energy Research latest publishing the British offshore wind industry could deliver a five-fold growth in capacity by 2030, this way reaching 30GW.
